NOTE: because these are handmade, there could be some minor differences between the picture and what you receive. All measuring spoon are weighed and calibrated with sugar for an accurate size. Remember I make these by hand and weigh them on scales, so the weight calibration might be off just a little. If you are looking for 1-1/2 Teaspoon choose the 1/2 Tablespoon, they are the same. Spoons are 6" long. Spoon has been washed to raise the grain, then re-sanded and waxed with beeswax and mineral oil mix. Regardless of what some spoon makers say grain raises all the time after use. The grain will break, then fuzz up. These spoons more than likely not made from the same piece of wood, so colors may not match. If you want matching colors look for the the complete set on the home page. IMPORTANT INFORMATION to know. These spoons, as all spoons are NOT made to with stand dropping on the floor. If they land on the bowl end, they will more than likely break, because this part has a very short grain. So DON'T DROP YOUR SPOON. I will not replace it. Also cracks may occur over time, depending on how well you take care of it. NO DISHWASHER. I will not replace it. I have no control over what wood can do. Let me tell you a little about Cherry and Walnut. Cherry wood is a fine grain wood which means the grains are tighter and closer together. They sand real smooth and won’t fuss up much when washed. The colors are deep red to a light reddish tan. Walnut is a coarse open grain wood, which means the grain is a little bigger. They will sand smooth but tend to fuss up a lot when washed then dried. They can be lightly sanded to remove the fuss. The colors are dark brown to a light brownish tan. I use all the colors in cherry and walnut. Both woods might have, what I call birth marks. They could be black marks to twisted grain. I will use these as long as I can sand smooth and they don’t have cracks Remember on spoons, spatulas, spurtles, forks, rolling pins, ladles, and honey dippers you will not be getting the one that is pictured. That one has already been sold. I try to make all my items designed off the original. Originals will always have a number beside it, meaning one of a kind. Care of Products Cooking Spoons Hand Wash with hot water and Antibacterial soap (Dial, Ajax, etc.) NO DISHWASHER DO NOT LEAVE SITTING IN WATER Let air dry. If you want a smoother feel, lightly sand with fine sandpaper(220 grit) Oil or Wax (food safe mineral oil, butcher block oil or my special blend of wax) Wipe dry. Oil once about every 2 to 6 months.
