Packaging naturally causes a wool item to temporarily lose length/width. This is due to the lack of hard elements and synthetics inside. Press on it and push outwards to expand it. Once the side edges get completely straight and not wrinkled, the cushion is completely decompressed. Every item we create goes through 2 independent checks for size and quality before we ship it. BREAKING-IN A WOOL CUSHION Each wool cushion is compressed by hand when it is created but note it will compress an additional 10-15% during the first few months of use. It is a natural process for wool. We accommodate the compression by stuffing the wool densely, so our cushions come thicker than advertised and over time compress to about the thickness you see in the description. To avoid dips forming where your body naturally lays/sits on the cushion you simply need to: • Flip and rotate it (head to toe & top to bottom) at least once weekly in the first 2-3 months or until the wool compresses, and regularly there after. • Sit on all parts of the cushion so wool is under equal pressure both in the middle and the sides. • Compression stops after a few months of regular use. If you need more ‘cushioning’ after the cushion has compressed, you can easily add some fresh wool through the zippers we place. 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 Once compressed your cushion requires minimal care. • Flip and rotate every month or two. • If possible, take it out on a sunny day to use the natural anti-microbial properties of sun. It will naturally disinfect and revitalize your bedding. • Stains should be treated using a solution of one part white vinegar to three parts water and then air-dried completely, in sunlight if possible. In particularly humid climates you can take additional steps: • Use a dehumidifier • Sun and air bedding more frequently • Use a vacuum on your cushion to pull air through the fibers ADJUSTING THE FIRMNESS If at any point you find the cushion to be too firm or if the wool compresses unevenly, you can easily reach in through the zipper to adjust the wool filling or add more loose wool on top of the existing wool, for a fresh fluffy layer. CLEANING Outer cover is removable for washing. Use gentle cycle, low temperature, and mild detergent, without brighteners. -------------------------------------------- • These are handmade items. Please, allow some deviation in dimensions. Any deviation in dimensions less than 5% is considered acceptable. • All wool-filled items are subject to some degree of compression.
