General Information

This spice blend has been hand mixed then slowly cold smoked for hours over natural hardwood to produce a sweet, savory, and smoky flavor with just a touch of heat which enhances chicken and pork.

Whiskey Oak Seasonings is one of the few products on the market made by smoking over real wood and not an effect gained by the shortcut of liquid smoke. The producer, Kirk, uses a unique hand built smoker and slowly smokes in small batches using wood from retired whiskey barrels.

Suggested Use

Suitable for both cooking and finishing. Top suggestions include use as a rub for chicken, chops, and ribs by preparing the meat with olive oil followed by the spice blend, which should be allowed to be absorbed for at least 20 minute before cooking.

Use to enhance a Sloppy Joe recipe, or perhaps even (as Kirk suggests) as an inclusion for a sort of western spaghetti sauce.
