Items with this logo were only produced by Griswold Mfg. Co from 1920 to 1930! This is a wonderful example of a Griswold Large Block Logo Oval Fish Pan and is also incredibly hard to find! These pans are a true testament to the quality and craftsmanship of antique cast iron cookware. In 1868, Matthew Griswold and his Cousins, the Selden Brothers, ran a factory producing metal hinges; This factory became known as Selden & Griswold. In 1884 Matthew Griswold bought the Selden shares of the company and after a fire in 1885, the foundry is rebuilt and named Griswold Manufacturing Company. Griswold produced brands: Selden & Griswold, Erie, Griswold’s Erie, Victor, Iron Mountain, Best Made, Good Health, Merit, and Puritan. The foundry produced cast iron cookware until 1957. Cleaned and Seasoned, ready to display, use, or gift! Sits flat, no cracks, rust, or repairs. Unlike today’s cookware, this piece will literally last a lifetime. Cast iron not only becomes non-stick with use; it will last a lifetime with proper care, adds iron to your diet, is chemical free, and is extremely versatile!
